Skin Food

My Olay facial wash ran out 2 weeks ago and I ended up trying out a Garnier's facial scrub and ended up with a few small zits. I figured the small zits were just an indication that my skin still needed to adjust to the product so I continued using the wash for around a week and ended up with a big painful swollen zit on my nose. That was the last draw so I trashed the product and decided to look for something else instead.

Being the Watson's boy that I've been since they opened their first branch in Manila, I spent almost an hour checking labels of different products. I was tempted to go with either Pond's or Olay again as they both worked wonders for me however I realized I didn't want all the potentially carcinogenic chemicals they had in them on my skin anymore. I stepped out of the Watson's branch I was in and started looking for a skin specialty store to solve my problem.

Fortunately, almost adjacent to the Watson's branch I was in was Skin Food - a skin care store which originated from Korea. Aside from their products being designed for Asian skin, they are all also based on stuff that are normally edible and are almost purely organic. I checked out their men's care lines and was eventually convinced by their sales staff to try out their Cognac/Brandy line (facial foam, toner, and emulsion) and take advantage of the promo* they have. It actually took me more than half an hour (seriously!) to finally decide to get the products recommended to me minus the wash as well as their Hop Beer shampoo, and then went home to try them out.

It's been like 3 or 4 days since I started using the stuff I bought from Skin Food and my face hasn't felt as good in years. Most of my smaller zits have disappeared and the big zit I had on my nose is now like 20% its original size and has NOT left a dark spot. The stuff is also seriously relaxing as it smells good and feels good when you use it, unlike other products which either sting or make your face feel thin right after. I guess I can say I'm happy with the stuff I bought and will probably buy more stuff from Skin Food moving forward.

If you're interested, you can visit Skin Food's website to check their products out. The Cognac/Brandy facial foam and toner I bought are listed under Men's Care.

*Free Mask/PhP500 G.C./eye shadow for every single receipt purchase worth PhP1,000/PhP1,500/PhP2,000 until August 31, 2008.

P.S.: I haven't trashed the Garnier facial scrub as it currently serves as my body scrub, hehehe.

Another blog refresh

I've decided to do another blog refresh this year. I've deleted most of my older posts and will be changing my site's theme when I get the chance. I'll also try to be more consistent with posting my stuff and will be including more reviews than I did before.I'll be posting my updated life list this coming week. A life list is basically a list of goals with not-so-specific deadlines meant to keep your life on track - an idea I got from an Oprah episode. Since I started doing life lists I've accomplished a couple of things, and I'm hoping to be able to do more of what I originally listed, while adding a few more reasonable goals.
